I got this book for a friend of mine who also lives in Rome. I was immediately attracted to the cover, Via means 'go away' or 'road' in Italian...and the cover plays with the last meaning, placing the title on a common street sign in Italy. Everyone who has lived in Rome for years knows that it's not all dolce vita it can also be a really stressful city to live in. The transport system is really slow and lacking, the traffic is horrible, Italians can be pretty crazy, endless demonstrations blocking the city if it's not yet another transport strike going on...

In other words, finding a way to cope with the stress is necessary if you want to survive in Rome. Personally I do yoga, and go for walks in one of the amazing parks the city offers. For other ideas, check out this book with lot's of inside-tips...I've only seen in in Italian, if you don't speak it you can write down the addresses, and go for a discovery trip in the city. I can't wait for my friend to bring me along to one of the stress free spots in Rome. Have a stress-free Sunday!
